a star is born...

after tragedies such as Eminem getting all "funny" with tracks like 'Without Me', Snoop Dogg's 'Paid Tha Cost To be Tha Boss', Ja Rule and more recently Flo Rida and Souljah Boy hip-hop at least to me, as NaS famously famously asserted in 2006 '... is dead'.

.... or rather... 'was dead'
in 2009, as far as im concerned hip-hop/rap has chucked a Jesus Christ and rose on the 3rd year after it's death, with a new generation of talented rappers dropping their first albums this year including:
Asher Roth
Kid Cudi
Wale
B.o.B.

The lastest of which is J. Cole who featured on Jay-Z's Blueprint 3. I've just downloaded his 2nd, but 1st official mixtape entitled The Warm Up and after only 1 listen im totally rating him amongst the talents mentioned above... heck if this is J. Cole warming up i for one can't wait to see what he can produce when his red hot.

So i implore that you all check out his mixtape at www.mixfiend.com and his official website www.jcolemusic.com
