TWILIGHT SPEESHHHHH! (part 2)

A year has finally come and gone, and with the coming of summer also comes the return of the twilight saga! This is the second installment of the "franchise", with returning cast, and budget that would probabaly put the new space program to shame could they go wrong? Well sorta, the "lol" value and good points probably out weigh the bad. But before we actually start talking about the movie lets start from the beginning.

Me, crez, and Indy G went to see the movie with Rashmin, Janani (from Sankalana fame), and cofa peep Rebecca. I'm not gonna lie i think that they were a bit hesitant to see the movie, especially with the fact that we were probably way to keen to see it. For a change of pace from macq we got an insight into Indy's world and went to Castle Towers. And what a world it is! imagine if you will a shopping center filled with milfs, lowies (or in this case bellas), and multicultural couplings (what we call living the dream). This pic pretty much encapsulates the whole experience.

Indy G caught in the middle, LOL

OK now with the actual review of the movie itself, if you hated the first movie and the books this films not gonna change your mind anytime soon. We basically start off where the last movie ended with Bella and Edward living in teen angst bliss. But when issues of age and the fact he's a vampire come into the equation (the vampire thing should've been addressed sooner aye) they forcefully break up and so begins the epic which is New moon.

The budget for this movie is pretty damn hectic, the effects and visuals of the film give like a nice warmness to it. The vampires look mad pasty, to a point where i probably eye rolled a few times(offt). The wolves like in between that stage where it looks a little fake but still looks kool (better than spiderman but not as good as transformers). For all the lady readers out there and borrott you'll be happy to know that the werewolf guys are probably shirtless for maybe 95% of the film, wearing nothing but biker shorts and as crez pointed out Air Max 90's(this guy).

The soundtrack is decked out with "indie tunes" that almost instantly give the movie credibility. I will say that it does make the movie have a different feel from other blockbusters n stuff but sometimes its overplayed a bit too much. At some points the music would have like a whimsy indie feel to it and at other times would have an over dramatic/almost orchestra like blast to it. What they really needed was a track from Bangs on this thing (especially in the going to the movie scene).

Kirsten Stewart has reprised the role of Bella and has almost mastered the craft of awkwardness and pastiness , joining the upper class of awkward with hall of famer Michael Cera. Some might call this "bad acting" or "just terrible" but let me say this to all the haters........c'mon. She's not exactly great in this movie but wasn't that bad either (well i didn't think so anyways). Note though that one particular scene where she begins to have night terrors and screams is very funny, to a point where if you didn't laugh something must have died in you a long time ago.

Robert Pattinson is back once again as Edward and is only really in the beginning and the end of the movie, mostly being like a ghost sorta figure throughout the majority. His pastiness in this movie is intense at best, lets say he puts Katy Perry's dead complexion to shame very hard, you could say his got it down PAT (see what i did there, his names Pattinson.. never mind). His Awkwardness at some points is so grating that its nearly unwatchable, imagine like Styrofoam rubbing together and you'll get a good feel. The director also should have told him that he didn't have to try and convey all emotions at once, as in most shots he's frowning smiling and squinting all at the same time ( and yes there is also a couple of "jizz his pants" scenes so don't worry about that shit!).

The guy who plays Jacob is probably the only guy who does any "traditional acting", not to say his great but merely by default. Not too much to say about him besides the fact he plays sharkboy in Sharkboy and Lavagirl. He's pretty ripped the whole time and does alotta running.

Throughout the movie me, crez and Indy G made alotta calls and had moments of inappropriate laughter. The best call by far was by Indy G who proposed " I wana see a movie based on Angela and Eric". Those of you who know twilight would know that this would be a awesome prospect, but for those who are wondering who are Angela and Eric? peep this!

Thats right its ya boy Justin Chon and that arty lookin chick. Chon is back and is as sick as he was in the first movie, and yes still looking like New Charles.

So yes the movie was pretty good and full of many unintentional laughs to be had. Its arguable whether you'll get more enjoyment out of it than the first twilight movie. And yes i will probably receive a lot of shit again for liking this movie, especially with the fact that so many people have said that it was terrible but yea...BITE ME ( man i am so witty aye?).

i am looking forward to eclipse and will see you guys in just over 200 days for the next installment of the TWILIGHT SPESSHHH! COMEHITTHIS.

WU-TANG!!

Lads, Eshays, Hipsters, Westys, Weed, Lil Jon, Indy, Ryuto, Jinman, Ant, Paul, Andy, Crez, Kayo and Cam. These are the mix of Sydney fans/fiends of the WU-TANG CLAN who came for their first gig at the enmore last Thursday, also a start to the events of last week's epic weekend.

Seemingly coming out of nowhere, word spread that they might do a gig after some ?melbourne skate/punk show? in the Syds and i was definitely skeptical to them hitting the shores at all. Lets face it, the clan hasn't been the same since ODB died with rumors of "creative control" (RZA making shitty beats) and some members getting more success than others and not returning to their roots and "keeping it real" (as if you wouldn't sell out if you had the chance! look at Sheckler!). Oh yeah and does anyone notice how Mef is like immune to all this, he had like a PG TV show with Red about being stoners without any evidence of weed or smoke at all, fuck the what?!

But back to the matter we bought the tickets and the show happened. I remember on the train there, we were making hypotheticals of who we would trade (U-GOD) for the ones that already announced were a no show (Mef, Ghostface, ODB dead) and how RZA can't flow over his own beats (Triumph). Well we got to the doors to meet up with Ant and sure enough there was a small piece of paper pinned up, some dudes flaked. "U-GOD & MASTA KILLA WILL NOT PERFORM TONIGHT" First reaction was a LOL, no real biggie. That left us with 4/9 - Raekwon, GZA, Inspecktah Deck and RZA (is Cappadonna counted as a member yet? was he there?) which is probably the best collection of like straight lyrical dudes in the crew (bar RZA). They all showed and killed it the only problem was times when it was like, oh shit yeh Gravel Pit! oh wait...none of these dudes have verses on this song....bummer.

Their set was kinda weird too as they did all of their classics straight from the beginning and kinda burnt out and dragged on to the end, to quote Ryuto: "It got kinda CBF". But still it was mad to see them do Wu-Tang Clan Aint Nothin' to Fuck With' and C.R.E.A.M Live and in the flesh for the first and maybe last time ever. It was also cool to see Raekwon and his stockiness aswell as them all yelling over eachother when trying to talk to the crowd. So the overall verdict......SICKKKK.

Oh yeah and also a special note to the beginning act Lil Jon who was okay and ultimate lols. Between songs he talked in his "mild-mannered citizen" voice just like in Chapelle. I think he caught alot of people off guard when he first came out, everyone ready to boo but he was actually pretty enegretic. Dont act like you dont know the songs! (I see ya Jinman!). Also i feel bad for Ryuto when that gay eshay pyramid collapsed on him. shotnot.

Oh yeah sorry for the lack of photos, we are useless without Prez's 3 megapixel machine.

ON another note altogether... has anyone seen the espionage collabos with reebok? Someone got fired over this shit lol.

A mixture of everything it kinda reminded me of this....

P.S.
Also props to Kayo for like showing up to the gig after spending 4 hours in jail that same day, I shit you not. Is Kayo realer than U-God? Some would say yes lol
